Simona is a Bulgarian film director, screenwriter and producer. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Film and TV Production from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2020 and went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Film Directing from Bulgaria’s National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts.
She has worked in production and development across multiple film and TV production companies in New York, NY and Sofia, Bulgaria, most notably working on Valeska Grisebach’s upcoming feature film “The Dreamed Adventure” through Miramar Film (Sofia, Bulgaria) as a producer’s assistant and in-office coordinator.
Her most recent short film, “Lonesome Star”, was in the official selection of several international film festivals and received the award for Best Bulgarian Short Film from Burgas International Film Festival in 2025. She is currently in post-production for her upcoming short narrative film as a producer, “A Fox Has No Name”, which was awarded a grant from Bulgaria’s National Culture Fund.
